McKernan Packaging Clearing House is a worldwide packaging component distribution company incorporated in 1960. The Precycle® Packaging program is an "earth-friendly" concept developed by McKernan as a resource for manufacturers and businesses to reduce corporate waste. This program acquires unused packaging components and offers them for sale at a reduced price. The focus of this position is to purchase large volumes of this Precycle® Packaging. Position Summary:

We have an immediate opening for an energetic, highly motivated Business Development Representative to join our purchasing team. The BDR will be responsible for making high volume outbound cold/warm calls and sending follow-up emails to companies with the goal of purchasing large quantities of Precycle® Packaging. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, driven entrepreneurial individual with an aggressive, sales-oriented mentality.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to prospect and uncover opportunities
Learn to identify packaging market trends
Maintain and expand your database of vendors

Desired Qualifications:

Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills
A positive “can-do" attitude with the ability to overcome obstacles and pursue desired results
Strong organizational and listening skills
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
Talent to work effectively with minimal supervision
Basic math skills and proficiency in windows-based operating systems
Strong phone presence and experience making numerous calls per day
